BLT Bites

These BLT Bites are a fun, bite-sized take on the classic sandwich. They're the perfect easy appetizer for parties, holidays, or game day.

Equipment

  • Cutting Board
  • Knife and bread knife
  • Medium or large skillet
  • Paper towel
  • Tray or baking sheet
  • Parchment paper and toothpicks

Ingredients

  • ½ loaf baguette bread
  • 24 pcs 1-inch pieces of lettuce (about ¼ of a head of lettuce)
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 12 pcs cherry tomatoes
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise (use more or less to taste)

Instructions

  • Cut the lettuce into 1-inch pieces and slice the cherry tomatoes in half.
  • Slice the baguette into 24 thin slices.
  • Cut the bacon into thirds, then cook in a medium or large skillet over medium-low heat until slightly crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to absorb the grease.
  • Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on each baguette slice, using more or less to taste
  • Arrange the baguette slices on a parchment-lined tray or baking sheet. Top each slice with lettuce, then bacon, then tomato.
  • Stick a toothpick through the center of each bite to hold it all together.

Notes

If you’d like a crunchier base, toast the baguette slices at 350°F for 5–7 minutes, or until lightly golden, before adding the toppings.
