Stuffed Shells with Sausage

Ingredients

  • 24 jumbo shells
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 5 cups pasta sauce
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 3 tbsp parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Boil the noodles according to package directions until tender. Drain and set aside.
  • Cook the Italian sausage over medium heat in a large skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks, until browned.
  • Pour enough sauce to cover the bottom of the casserole dish.
  • In a large bowl, combine the cooked Italian sausage, ricotta, parmesan, half the mozzarella, seasonings, and 2 cups of the sauce.
  • Fill the shells with the mixture, and set them into the prepared casserole dish.
  • Pour sauce over the stuffed shells, then top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  • Cover the casserole dish with foil, and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Uncover and bake for an additional 20-30 minutes, until the cheese is melted. You can broil for 2-3 minutes on high to get the cheese nice and bubbly.
  • Chop some fresh parsley and sprinkle it over the dish before serving.
