Easter Rice Krispie Treats With Cadbury Eggs

Ingredients

  • 5 cups Rice Krispies
  • 3 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup crushed Cadbury mini eggs
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup Cadbury mini eggs
  • 2 cups of green icing

Servings: Makes one 9×12 tray

Prep time: 15 minutes

Total time: 1 hour 35 minutes

Instructions

1. Melt marshmallows and butter on low heat.

2. Add Rice Krispies and crushed mini Cadbury eggs once the marshmallows are melted.

3. Stir until everything is well-coated.

4. Lightly press the mixture with your hands or lightly greased spatula into a greased 9×12 inch baking pan.

5. Allow it to set for one hour.

6. Place icing into a piping tip and gently pipe grass onto the tray of Rice Krispie treats.

Quickly flick your hand when pipping to create a grass effect so the “grass” will stand up.

7. Place the mini Cadbury eggs onto the grass 

8. Let set for 20 more minutes before cutting.

Substitutions

If you don’t want to pipe icing, you could spread buttercream on top of the Rice Krispie treats.

Tinting the frosting an Easter pastel shade would be a nice touch. You wouldn’t get the grass effect, but they would still be festive with the mini Cadbury eggs on top.

Storage

Store in an airtight container for up to three days.
