Spellbook Brownies
These spellbook brownies are a spooky cute Halloween treat that's inspired by the movie Hocus Pocus! Make this spell book brownie recipe for your Hocus Pocus party, family movie night, as Halloween classroom treats for your kids, and more!

Ingredients
- 1 box brownie mix plus ingredients from the instructions on th box (water, oil, eggs)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- pinch of salt
- 1 tbsp milk or heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- black gel food coloring
- eyeball candies
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a 9×13 baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, prepare the brownies according to directions. Pour the batter evenly into the 9×13 pan, and bake according to the time on the box.
- Allow the brownies to cool and set up firm in the refrigerator.
- Cut the brownies into 8 rectangles, you'll have a little extra brownie on the ends to enjoy.
- For the frosting, in a large mixing bowl, beat the butter, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder.
- Add the salt, vanilla, and a generous amount of black gel coloring (enough to reach a deep black shade). Mix in the milk if needed, and beat until smooth
- Add the frosting to a piping bag with a writing frosting tip.
- Decorate the brownies to resemble a spell book. For the eye candies, add a dollop of frosting to the back of them, and press them into the brownie carefully.
