How do I keep the chocolate from melting too much?

Keep a close eye on the oven and remove them as soon as the Rolos start to glisten.

Can I make these ahead of time?

Yes, they store well in an airtight container for up to one week.

Can I freeze them?

You can freeze them for up to 2 months, but the pretzels may lose a bit of their crunch once thawed.

For the best texture, we recommend enjoying them fresh or storing at room temperature for up to a week.

Any tips for packaging as gifts?

Once they’re completely set, package them in clear treat bags, Mason jars, or holiday tins and tie with ribbon for an easy, festive homemade holiday gift.

Can I double or triple the recipe?

Yes! If you’re making a big batch for a party or gifts, simply double or triple all the ingredients.

We recommend baking and assembling about 20 at a time, since the Rolos set quickly once they’re out of the oven.

Working in smaller batches makes it easier to add the antlers, eyes, and noses before the chocolate firms up.
